We did some chores around the house before going to the Aquarium for the afternoon!\u00a0 We go all the time because we learn something new!\u00a0 This time we learned three things! Join the fun!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Do you know what the worlds largest migration of animals is?\u00a0 We figured elephants!\u00a0 Nope… Creatures of the sea migrate to the surface to dine where it is dark and then when the sun rises, they migrate deep into the sea to stay away from predators.\u00a0 It is done everyday and it is massive.<\/p>\n

It’s formal name is Diel vertical migration, also known as diurnal vertical migration, is a pattern of movement used by some organisms, such as Copepods, living in the ocean and in lakes. The migration occurs when organisms move up to the epipelagic zone at night and return to the mesopelagic zone of the oceans or to the hypolimnion zone of lakes during the day. The word diel comes from the Latin dies day, and means a 24-hour period. It is referred to as the greatest migration in the world in terms of biomass.<\/p>\n

Then we found out about “Whale Fall”<\/p>\n

A whale fall is the carcass of a cetacean that has fallen into the Bathyal or Abyssal zone on the ocean floor. As they are found at depths of 2,000 m or 6,600 ft, they create complex localized ecosystems that supply sustenance to deep-sea organisms for decades.\u00a0 Read about it in Wikipedia!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

After the aquarium we had to go to Irvine to see our lawyer so we decided to stop in at Cucina Enoteca at Irvine Spectrum.\u00a0 We shared three cheeses and Paul tried two infusions!\u00a0 Cucina means cooking in Italian and Enoteca means “A place primarily directed at giving visitors or tourists the possibility to taste these wines at a reasonable fee and possibly to buy them”<\/p>\n

Sneak Attack! Sue had wine and Paul had an infusion<\/p><\/div>\n

Paul tried the arbor manhattan with peanut infused bourbon\u00a0 and then followed it with a\u00a0 “Dr. Spice ” which is apricot nutmeg rum + coconut chai + citrus + simple syrup.\u00a0 Sue played it safe with an excellent wine.<\/p>\n

Paul loved the bar<\/p><\/div>\n

Then off to see our lawyer about “trust issues”…. No, not that kind… Adjustment to our Trust as we have great grandchildren now!<\/p>\n

On the way home we stopped at Patty’s Place and had a drink before going home and watching a movie and some of our serials.<\/p>\n
