Jimmy Buffett (born James William Buffett on December 25, 1946, in \tPascagoula, Mississippi) is a singer, songwriter, author, businessman, and \trecently a film producer best known for his “island escapism” lifestyle and \tmusic including hits such as “Margaretville” (No. 234 on the list of “Songs \tof the Century”), and “Come Monday.” He has a devoted base of fans known as \t“Parrot heads.” His band is known as the Coral Reefer Band.<\/p>\n
Aside from his career in music, Buffett is also a best-selling writer and is \tinvolved in two restaurant chains named after some of his best known songs, \t“Cheeseburger in Paradise” and “Margaretville.” He owns the \tMargaretville \tCafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise \trestaurant concept with OSI Restaurant Partners (parent of Outback \tSteakhouse), which operates the chain under a licensing agreement with Mr. \tBuffett.<\/p>\n
