We went to Seasons 52 for lunch (great restaurant) and then across the street to South Coast Repertory to see “4,000 Miles”.\u00a0 Summary: Vera is 91, an old world Leftie. Her grandson, Leo, is 21, a new age Hippie. After a cross-country trip, Leo turns up at Vera\u2019s New York apartment with a backpack, a bike and no money. She agrees to let him spend the night; a few weeks later, he\u2019s still there. Leo is at a bad place with his parents, his girlfriend wants to break up, and something terrible happened on his trip. As Vera listens\u2014when her hearing aid is turned on\u2014we listen, with compassion. This odd couple has grabbed our hearts and will not let go. They are, as The New York Times <\/em>says, \u201cAltogether wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n

We then headed to the 2013 “Seniors Prom” and danced the night away.\u00a0 Please join us<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n

One great thing about the “Seniors Prom: is that we are home by 10:00 so we watched one of our first Christmas movies entitled “Trading Christmas” Summary: Emily (Faith Ford) misses her daughter Heather (Emma Lahana), who is attending college in Boston. Since her father died, Heather is sensitive to her mom\u2019s dependence on long-standing holiday traditions. This Christmas, Heather has planned a trip to Phoenix with her boyfriend, but tells her mother she is staying on campus to study.<\/p>\n

After Emily arranges a house-swap with Charles (Tom Cavanagh), an English professor from Boston who wants Washington State\u2019s solitude in order to finish his novel, Emily hops on a flight to Boston to surprise Heather for Christmas. Unaware of the house swap, Emily\u2019s best friend, Faith (Gabrielle Miller) walks in on Charles at Emily\u2019s house and in Boston, Ray, Charles\u2019 brother (Gil Bellows) responds to a 911 call only to find Emily at Charles\u2019 condo. Will Christmas travel calamities lead to cross-country romances? Or have there been one too many surprises already?<\/span><\/p>\n
