Lovely Sundays… Time To Rest

We went to church, and it was excellent.  For the past 18 months, we have been studying the book of Mark, a few lines at a time.  As we head toward Easter, we look forward to the sermon each week!  After church, we went CFR to Newport Harbor Elks and danced from 1-5 to a new group called “Don & Sharon.”  Sharon performs at LaBrique we found out a little later that evening when we stopped by Old Ranch!

Brian and Jan joined us this afternoon, so it was a great fun-filled afternoon!  On the way home, we got a text from Bunnaford, and we stopped by Old Ranch for a glass of wine with many of our golf friends.

Then it was off to home as we promised Sarge we would watch a movie with him!  We watched “Back To You And Me” from Hallmark.  Summary: After too many years away, brittle big-city doctor Sydney Ludwick (Lisa Hartman Black) returns to her home town of Bloomfield for a high school reunion. She is mildly surprised to find out that her widowed mother, Helen ( McLanahan), with whom she hasn’t communicated since the death of her dad, has transformed the family home into a bed-and-breakfast. Likewise bidding fair to bring change to Sydney’s life is the fact that her high school sweetheart Gus (Dale Midkiff) is now a widower. But nothing quite prepares Sydney for the revelation of a dark secret that her mother has been harboring for years, with the tacit assistance of local pastor Ed Jenkins (Don Harvey).

We still had some time, so we started a second movie entitled “Elevator Girl” which we had seen before, but it was really good!  Summary: Modern Cinderella-romance where a young successful lawyer panics when he finds that he has fallen for a working-class girl.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
